Caitlin Kalinowski, Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, announced the hiring spree on X (formerly Twitter):

“Really excited to be posting our FIRST Robotics hardware roles for @OpenAI, including two very senior tech lead engineering (IC) roles and a TPM Manager,” she wrote.

Kalinowski elaborated on the roles:

EE Sensing Engineer: Focused on designing sensor suites for robots.
Robotics Mechanical Design Engineer: Specializing in gears, actuators, motors, and linkages.
TPM Manager: A dynamic role overseeing product development, training lab setup, and product design phases.

Expressing her enthusiasm for OpenAI’s collaborative environment, Kalinowski added:

“The talent density, work velocity, and focus make this a wonderful place to do technical work. Join us!”

Her post was amplified by OpenAI President Greg Brockman, who encouraged professionals to “Apply to help us build robotics hardware.”
